“Be what you see, and receive what you are.”

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Eucharistic Ministers)

Extraordinary Ministers assist the priests in distributing communion at Mass. Our ministers also distribute communion to the sick, the homebound and to prisoners. By offering the Eucharist, you recognize the Body of Christ in those to whom you minister and ultimately you act as the Body of Christ by fully participating in the life of the parish and the wider community. Your willingness to commit to a monthly schedule, to prepare properly for your service and to arrive on time and dressed appropriately for your assigned Mass, further reflects that commitment.

We welcome those who want to participate in the ministry. A candidate, under normal circumstances, has to be confimed. Eucharistic Ministers must be in good standing with our Catholic Faith, able to receive Holy Communion themselves, and be properly disposed to serve the faithful readily. If you feel called to this ministry, please call the pastor at 415.922.1010

Prayer for Eucharistic Ministers

“Loving Father, you brought us in a new and intimate relationship with you through your son, Jesus, who tells us: “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” As Eucharistic Ministers, help us to treat others as we would treat Jesus. Let us welcome one another and serve one another with all the kindness, respect and generosity that we would offer Christ.”
