Dear Friends and Parishioners,Pope Francis wants to hear from us! Pope Francis invites the whole Church to participate in the preparatory process for the upcoming Synod of Bishops on Synodality. What is Synodality? In the words of the Holy Father, “…synodality represents the main road for the Church, called to renew herself under the action of the Spirit and by listening to the Word.”During our Pastoral Planning Process this fall, we discussed the fact that our old ways are no longer working. We need to think differently. This is our opportunity to respond to the Holy Father’s request for feedback. It will facilitate discussion and reflection to shape the Church’s understanding of herself and her mission of evangelization and forming disciples. The Archdiocese of San Francisco will kick-off the local synodal process this month by asking every Catholic to participate in the Disciple Maker Index survey. The process will continue in February and March with engagement sessions offered throughout the Archdiocese. The Disciple Maker Index survey is a nationally recognized survey administered at parishes around the United States and Canada since 2013 by The Catholic Leadership Institute. Individual answers are anonymous. The results from this survey will be summarized by parish and will provide baseline feedback from which content for the engagement sessions will be developed. This is another tool to support our Pastoral Plan here at St. Vincent de Paul. It will help us in our quest to understand the parish better and build community and fellowship.Click here to take the survey! If you prefer to take the survey on paper, you can find the printable document here. Envelopes to return to the parish will be provided and for anonymity, we will ask you to seal them. An enclosed box will be available in the front office to drop off.Paper survey's will also be provided in your preferred language! If you prefer another language, other than English, please call the parish office and we will gladly provide it.Click here for more information regarding Synod 2022!
"The mission of the Church requires the entire People of God to be on a journey together, with each member playing his or her crucial role, united with each other."Pope Francis
